Terms of Service

Wedding Companion is an online platform that allows couples to create and manage a personalised wedding website, collect attendee responses, share event details and schedules, manage menu selections, and host a shared photo gallery for guests.

The service is intended for personal, non-commercial use by individuals planning a wedding or civil partnership ceremony.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By registering you confirm that you meet this age requirement.

You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and keep it up to date. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you suspect unauthorised access, notify us immediately at support@wedding-companion.com.

New accounts receive a 7-day free trial with full access to all features of the selected plan. No credit card or payment information is required to start the trial.

The trial ends automatically after 7 days. Your data is retained for a short period after the trial expires; you will not be charged unless you actively choose a paid subscription.

Subscription plans are offered at the prices and with the features described on our pricing page at the time of purchase. We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable advance notice to existing subscribers.

Payment is due in full in advance and is processed by Stripe. By providing payment details you authorise the applicable charge.

Each subscription grants 18 months of full access to the service from the date of activation.

Subscriptions are non-refundable except where required by applicable Austrian consumer protection law (Konsumentenschutzgesetz). To request a refund under applicable law, contact support@wedding-companion.com.

After the 18-month access period, your wedding content is retained in read-only mode as described in your plan. You may request a full data export at any time during your active subscription.

You retain full ownership of all content you upload to Wedding Companion, including wedding details, photos, and guest information ("User Content").

By uploading User Content you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store, copy, transmit, and display your User Content solely for the purpose of operating and providing the service to you.

You are responsible for ensuring that your User Content does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights and that you have the consent of any individuals whose personal data or images you upload.

We do not claim ownership of your User Content and we will not use it for any purpose other than providing the service.

You agree not to use Wedding Companion to:

Upload, share, or transmit any content that is unlawful, obscene, defamatory, or infringes the rights of any third party.

Send unsolicited commercial messages or spam to your guests or any other party.

Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service, other user accounts, or our systems.

Use the service in any way that could impair its performance, reliability, or availability.

Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the platform.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these restrictions.

When you use Wedding Companion to collect and manage personal data about your guests, you act as an independent data controller for that data. You are responsible for complying with applicable data protection law, including having a valid legal basis for processing your guests' personal data.

We act as your data processor for guest data. Our data processing terms are set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms and constitutes a Data Processing Agreement under Art. 28 GDPR.

We aim to provide a reliable and high-quality service but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Planned maintenance windows will be announced in advance where practicable.

We may update or modify features of the service over time. We will provide reasonable notice of any changes that materially reduce the functionality included in your active subscription.

You may close your account at any time from your account settings. Upon closing, your data will be deleted in accordance with the retention periods set out in the Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your account with immediate effect if you breach these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if required by law.

Termination does not affect any accrued rights or obligations of either party as of the date of termination.

To the maximum extent permitted by Austrian law, our total cumulative liability arising out of or related to your use of Wedding Companion is limited to the total subscription fees you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of revenue, or loss of goodwill, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be limited under applicable Austrian law.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Austria, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Innsbruck, Austria.

If you are a consumer resident in the EU, you may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Registered users will be notified by email of any material changes at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
